With more than 100 Eisteddfodau being held in Trefeglwys after this date, the only exceptions being during the war years and the recent covid pandemic restrictions.
During this period the Eisteddfod has attracted adjudicators and competitors locally and nationally, many of whom have achieved national promminence. The committee and sub-committees meeting throughout the year to ensure the success of the yearly eisteddfodau.
Originally the Eisteddfod was held on Boxing Day at Gleiniant Chapel and after the committee became involved in planning and building the original Memorial Hall which was opened in 1924 this excellent building became the venue for the Eisteddfod until the present Memorial Hall was opened in the year 2000.
In the 1920's it was decided to award a Chair for the winning Bard, the chair being made by the local craftsmen the Jones family of the Factory, with alternate years a Silver Crown being presented, by now a miniature chair is given to the winning Bard.
By now The Trefeglwys Annual Chair Eisteddfod is held on the first Saturday in October with the afternoon session holding the childrens competitions giving a platform to the pupils of Ysgol Dyffryn Trannon many of whom have gone on to compete nationally at the Urdd and National Eisteddfodau.
